Questions about massage and sobada
What is a sobada?
It is a Mexican tradition of hands-on massage, with warm oil or lotion and firm pressure, one part of the body at a time. It is a session of care and rest: we do not diagnose, and we make no promises about your health.
How long is a session?
From 30 to 90 minutes, depending on what you choose when you book. Arrive a few minutes early to talk with your therapist.
Will I be covered the whole time?
Yes. A sheet covers you the whole session. Only the part we are working on is uncovered, and it is covered again when we move on.
What should I wear?
Whatever is comfortable. Take off only what you like; we work around whatever you keep on.
Can I ask for lighter or firmer, or stop?
Yes, at any time and for any reason. Before we start we ask how much pressure you like. If you ask for a pause or to end the session, we stop right away.
Do I need to speak English?
No. Adelfa and Fabio work in Spanish, and Fabio in English too. The studio, the booking and the WhatsApp messages are all in Spanish.
What if I am pregnant or have a health problem?
Ask your doctor or midwife before booking and tell your therapist. Health questions are answered on the booking page, not in messages.
How often should I come?
Whenever you like. Some people come once to try it and some come every few weeks. Your therapist can suggest a rhythm after your first visit.
Should I tip?
Tipping is optional and always appreciated. You can add it when you pay or hand it to your therapist.
What if I need to change my appointment?
Let us know 24 hours ahead by WhatsApp or phone and we will move it. If you are not feeling well, tell us as soon as you can.
How does pricing work?
The price depends on the length and on who works with you, and the booking page shows it before you confirm.
Can I bring my children?
Massage is for adults. A child can wait in the front room with another adult from your family, but cannot be in the room during a session.
